Immersion is the only biblical mode of baptism.
Scripture references including Romans 6:3-5, Colossians 2:12, Matthew 3:16, Acts 8:38 indicate that immersion was the only method practiced in the New Testament. This is indicated by the use of the words "burial," "raised," "down into,"and "straightway up out of."

Only those who are saved by an act of believing are proper subjects to be baptized.
Scripture references include Acts 8:37, Acts 2:41 and others. Obviously, babies cannot believe and need not be baptized. As General Baptists we believe that they are safe in the grace of God until they become old enough to be responsible for their own acts.

That all Christians should take the Lord's Supper together, insofar as a congregation is concerned.
We believe that when people of different denominations come together on some occasion when the Supper is being observed, all should be able to partake. We believe that a person must examine himself, and only each individual may decide whether to participate. If Christians take the Supper unworthily they bring condemnation on themselves. Scripture references include 1 Corinthians 11:23-29 and Luke 22:19-20.

Jesus Christ tasted death for every man, and in so doing, He provided a general atonement and a universal salavation.
For this atonement to be effective in our souls, repentance and faith must be practiced on our part. Hebrews 2:9, Luke 13:5, Hebrews 11:6 and John 3:16 are references for this doctrinal belief.
We believe that Christians can backslide, and that if they should die in this condition, they will be lost.
References include 2 Peter 2:20-22, Ezekiel 18:24, 1 Corinthians 9:25-27, Hebrews 6:4-6, Revelation 2:10-12, Revelation 3:3-5 and many others.

We believe in the inspiration of the Bible as God's Word.
We believe in the blood of Jesus for cleansing from sin.
We believe in the resurrection of the dead.
We believe in repentance and faith.
We believe in the Lord's Day as Sabbath.
We believe that only Jesus can save us from sin.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is in the world to lead us.
We believe that repentance is an act of prayer, of faith, of turning away from sin and to God. We believe in new birth, the coming of the Holy Spirit into our hearts, and making us conscious of the fact that we are forgiven and are now truly saved.
We believe that is the duty of all Christians to select a church in which they will be at home doctrinally, unite with the church, ask baptism of its minister, and put themselves at the disposal of the church and Christ to work at any task for which the Lord has fitted them.
These are the basic beliefs of the General Baptists, based solely on the Word of God as outlined in the Bible.
